The increase of entropy is an applicable allegory for acceleration in our current times; such as technical development, climate change, acts of violence and political polarisation. The woven surface, with its straight lines of warp and weft, can provide stability amongst continuing chaos.

Inside the grid I find the horizontal line, another dependable archetype for balance. The two emerge as a framework in the instability that surrounds us, becoming a structure within the arbitrary.

Terese Molin works around ideas of chaos, order, space-time and materiality, letting the framework and systems of weaving, in hand with visceral interpretation of light and colour, lead the way. Molin holds an MFA in Craft, Textile Art from HDK-Valand, Gothenburg (2023) and has since showed her work in several exhibitions, as well as taken part in interdisciplinary collaborations.
